BOISE, Idaho — Owyhee County has a new Sheriff in town. The Owyhee County Commissioners selected Deputy Larry Kendrick to replace the retiring Sheriff Perry Grant at their regularly scheduled meeting.
Kendrick was sworn in as the new Owyhee County Sheriff by the board Chair Joe Merrick and is now the Sheriff effective immediately.
The Owyhee Avalanche reports that Kendrick is a veteran deputy in the area and could potentially have set history when he took office as the first sheriff ever put into office in Owyhee County without a vote of the people.
